12月のテーマも、判断を表現する

👉今年度は…
「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎12月は
▶︎先月に引き続き「発言タイプ」ー【判断を表現する】を勉強します。
 「失敗」「成功」「類似・同一・相違」や「決定」「決意表明」「相手の都合を尋ねる」など
 「これから」に関わる表現を学んでいきましょう。

Lesson 164  発言タイプ：普通

👉普通：当然・普通・よくあることを伝える
▶︎「特に変わったことではない」の表現を学びましょう。

・ロキシー (Roxy) と父親

状況

・ホテルでのアルバイトから帰ってきたロキシーが、父親と話をしています。

Opening で

Onishi
▶︎ Let’s wait until the car comes.

David
▶︎ Sensei, what’s so funny?

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. I thought it would be good. It was a plain old joke.

Dialogue で

① How was work today? 【多彩な wh語 – how 】
👉さあ、how で始まる疑問文ですね。how は、「どのよう・様子」あるいは「どの程度」あるいは
 「方法」などをたずねる多彩な wh語。しっかりと習熟してくださいね。

② We were super busy, but it was fun.【 super  の使い方  】
👉 super busy というフレーズが出てきましたね。
 Do you frequently use this type of phrase – “super something”?
David ▶︎ Oh, for sure in casual spoken English it’s quite common to use “super 〜,”
Roza  ▶︎ Be sure to not use it in formal situations, though.

③ How do you like working in a hotel? 【 感想をたずねる How do you like 〜？】
👉 How do you like 〜？ 相手に感想をたずねる時に使われる定型文ですね。

④ How so? 【 How so? のニュアンス】
👉さあ、ここの How so? 「どうして、そうなの？」理由を聞いているわけです。

⑤ It makes me feel good too. 【  読み方と目的語説明型 】
👉さあ、今のろーざさんの発音ですね。me を it makes me と言って、ちょっと
 強めに(me を) 読んでいましたね。しっかりとまねてください。
▶︎そして、この文は目的語説明型。me が feel good するような situation を
 make するという意味合いになっています。

Practice 

Roza
▶︎ OK, guys. It’s time to practice. Again today I want you to close your eyes
 and practice the sentences without reading  them. OK?
 Be sure to feel what you’re saying.

David
▶︎ Here we go!
 ・It’s normal for a husband to do housework.
 ・Wearing suits is the norm here.

Roza
▶︎ Let’s continue.
 ・It’s quite common for siblings to argue.
 Let’s try that one more time. OK? A bit slowly.
 ・It’s quite common for siblings to argue.

David
▶︎ OK. Let’s keep moving.
・Let’s go to the usual place.
・I went to the gym and did my usual,

Roza
▶︎ And our last few. 
・His ideas were run of the mill.
・His ideas were garden variety.
・His ideas were ordinary.

▶︎ Very good work.

▶︎ Hey, Roza. Your shirt doesn’t look ordinary. That really looks good.

Roza
▶︎ Well, of course. Everything I wear looks good.
