今回は、第５問と第６問を取り上げます。

第５問は、各２点✖️４問＝計８点
第６問は、各４点✖️３問＝計１２点で、合計２０点となっています。

第５問・・・会話文に適語を入れる問題

次の対話文（１）〜（４）の [          ] に入る最も適当な英語を、下のア 〜エ のうちから
それぞれ一つずつ選び、その記号を書きなさい。（２点✖️４）

（１）
A: What are you looking for?
B: I’m looking for my pen.
A: If you can’t find your pen, please use [          ].

（１）の問題

会話文の意味はおよそ次の通りです。
A：あなたは何を探しているの？
B：私のペンを探しています。
A：もしペンが見つけられないなら、どうぞ [          ] を使って。
B：ありがとう。

【解説】
・英文の形から、「please use ＋目的語」という語順に
なります。
・会話の流れから、「Bさんのペンが無ければ、Aさんの（私の）ペンを
使って。」という展開になるのが最も自然です。

【解答】
・「私のペン」は別な言い方をすれば「私のもの」
なので、解答は、

エ  mine となります。
※ If you can’t find your pen, please use mine.

（２）の問題

会話文の意味はおよそ次の通りです。
A：あなたが今年の夏にオーストラリアを訪れる予定だと聞いてますが。
B：その通りです。そこで英語を勉強する予定です。
A：あなたはワクワク [          ] ？
B：もちろん。楽しめることを望んでいます。

【解説】
・会話の流れから、「あなたはワクワクしていますか。」
という excited を使った疑問文になるのがもっとも自然です。

【解答】
・「ワクワクする」は、be動詞を用いて、”be excited” という
表現を使います。肯定文であれば、You are excited. となるので、
疑問文であれば、Are you excited? となります。なので、解答は、

イ  Are となります。
※ Are you excited?

（３）問題

会話文の意味はおよそ次の通りです。
A：あなたは何の季節が好きですか。
B：夏が好きです。海で泳ぐのが大好きなんです。あなたはどうですか。
A：私は全ての季節の中で春が [          ] 好きです。花が美しいからね。
B：なるほど。

【解説】
・英文に of all seasons （全ての季節の中で）があることからも
「春が一番好きです。」という表現になるのが、最も自然な流れです。

【解答】
・「一番好きです」という場合は、like ＋「好きなもの」＋ the best
という表現を使うので、解答は、

エ  best となります。

（４）の問題

会話文の意味はおよそ次の通りです。
A：やあ、テッド、ケン。どこに行くの？
B：サッカーしに公園や行くんだ。
A：本当？　一緒に行って [          ]？
B：もちろん。行こう！

【解説】
・会話の流れから、「私も行ってもいいですか。」と
自分の許可を求める言い方が入るのが、一番自然な流れです。

【解答】
・許可を求める言い方は、May I なので、解答は、

ア   May I  となります。

第６問・・・会話文読解問題

次の英文は、高校生の歩美（Ayumi）とケリー先生（Ms. Kelly）がボランティア活動について話しているときのものです。これを読んで、あとの（１）〜（３）の問いに答えなさい。

Ayumi: I heard a story of an international volunteer group that built schools for
ー children in some other countries. I was moved by the story.
Ms. Kelly: Oh, that’s wonderful. Do you have any volunteer experiences?
Ayumi: No. I hope I can do something, but I can’t find ways to help people living in
ー other countries. In addition, I don’t have time to join volunteer work. I have
ー basketball club after school. On weekends, I help my *parents at their restaurants.
Ms. Kelly: So, you think you can’t join volunteer work because you are busy, right? But I
ー think ①you already have the volunteer spirit.
Ayumi: What do you mean, Ms. Kelly?
Ms. Kelly: Well, what is volunteer work, Ayumi?

（３）文中の [     ③     ] に入る最も適当な英語４語を、本文中から抜き出して書きなさい。

（１）の問題

But I think ①you already have the volunteer spirit.
「しかし、私は①あなたはすでにボランティア精神を持っていると、思うよ。」

【解説】
・①の部分で、ケリー先生がこのようなことを言ったということは、
その前の部分に、それがわかる事実があったということです。
☞その前の Ayumi の発言を見てみましょう。
「加えて、私はボランティアの仕事に参加する時間がありません。私には
放課後バスケット部があるんです。週末は、両親のレストランでお手伝いを
しています。」
（In addition, I don’t have time to join the volunteer work. I have basketball
club after school. On weekends, I help my parents at their restaurant.)

【解答】
・この発言内容と選択肢を見比べると、解答は、

イ　歩美が両親を助けるために、進んで両親の手伝いをしていると思ったから。
となります。

（２）の問題

②That’s the thing I can start now.
「それが今私が始めることができることです。」

【解説】
・「それが」とあるので、その内容を指すものが、
この発言のすぐ前にあるはずですから、その部分をチェックしましょう。

For example, when I was a high school student, I collected pencils at
school with my friends and sent them to children in some other countries.
（ケリー先生の発言：例えば、高校生の時、私は友達と学校で鉛筆を集めて、
他の国々の子供達に送りました。）

【解答】
・会話の流れから、このケリー先生が実践したことを
歩美はやろうとしているようなので、解答は、

エ  To collect pencils for children in some other countries. となります。
「他の国々の子供達のために鉛筆を集めること。」

（３）の問題

I see. Now, I understand there are many [     ③     ]. I will try to help my family
at home, and people in some other countries in my own ways.
「なるほど。今、私はたくさんの③があるのがわかりました。私は家で家族の手伝いを
するし、自分なりの方法で他の国々の人々を助けよるつもりです。」

【解説】
③は歩美の発言の一部ですが、
「たくさんの③があるのがわかりました。」とあるので、
その前に、ケリー先生が、「たくさんの③があるのよ」と言った
部分を受けての言葉だと考えられます。

そこで、ケリー先生の発言で、そのような部分がないかと探すと、
真ん中あたりの下記のような部分がありました。

If you are interested in volunteer work, I can help you. There are a lot of ways
to help people. You can choose something you can do when you have some
free time.
（もしあなたが、ボランティアに興味があるのなら、お手伝いはできますよ。
人を助ける方法はたくさんあるのです。あなたが自由な時間がある時、できる
もの選ぶこともできます。）

【解答】
・解説から、a lot of ways to help people の部分が使えそうです。
③では、その前に many があるので、
many ＝ a lot of と考え、解答は、

ways to help people （４語）となります。
