8月のテーマは、引き出す・感情を操作する

👉今年度は…
「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎８月は
▶︎「発言タイプ」ー【引き出す】【感情を操作する】を勉強します。
日常頻繁にある情報や許可・意見などを相手から引き出したり、励まして
相手の感情を操作する方法についてです。

👉感情操作② 励ますー頻用フレーズ２
▶︎同じく「励ます」表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・メーガン船長 (Megan)
・火星基地にいるアキラ (Akira)

状況

・メーガン船長が、アキラと話していると、アキラはもう帰りたいと言っているよう
ですよ。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza. Ready for today’s lesson?

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. Let’s get ready to go!

Dialogue で

① Can you turn up the volume, Akira? 【turn が意味するもの】
👉 turn up これは「音量を上げる」というフレーズです。
turn「つまみを回す」ところから、連想されています。

② Do you hear me now, Commander?【 hear のニュアンス】
👉 hear という動詞が「音が入ってくる」そういう方向性を持っているわけですね。
hear me「聞こえるか」というわけです。

③ I want to thank you for sending us the sushi. 【原因を表す for】
👉さあ、ここでは thank you for というお馴染みのフレーズが出てきましたね。
▶︎この for は、原因の for – そして for の後ろが sending us the sushi と
なっていましたね。
▶︎[授与形] send「送る」を使った授与形です。
私たちに、その寿司を、送ってくれて、と授与の意味が生じています。

④ Akira, we are all rooting for you. 【動詞 root の意味】
👉 we are all rooting for you という文が出てきましたね。
root という動詞は、「応援する」という動詞です。

After the Dialogue

▶︎ You know, our textbook is surprisingly tasty these days.
But please don’t eat it!

Practice

Roza
▶︎ OK, guys. It’s time to practice. Here I want you to imagine your friend
running in a race. That’s the feeling that I want you to keep in mind as you
practice.

David
▶︎ Nice image, Roza. These phrases all have a feeling of continuing to do
something. So imagine the relay or the tug-of-war when someone is in the
middle of something. We use these phrases.
Let’s practice, master them, and use them when you can.

We use these the same way that you use “ガンバレ！” in Japanese.
