発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

実例あげて取り上げていきます。

👉申し出る② 助力を申し出る２
▶︎「やってもよい・やる用意がある」という申し出

会話の場面

登場人物

・オメガ・ワンの船長メーガン (Megan)
・火星基地のアキラ (Akira)

状況

・メーガン船長は地球に帰還していて、火星基地のアキラとゼイトクスについて
話をしています。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Oh, I’m very happy to see you guys, join us today too.
This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. It’s time for liftoff. So let’s get going.

Dialogue で

① Copy, Mars Base.【無線通信でよく使われる copy】
👉さあ、copy という単語が出てきましたね。これは「、無線通信などで
よく使われます。「了解」「よく聞こえる」という意味です。

② How are things on Earth?【あいさつとしても使える】
👉 How are things? あいさつとしても使われるフレーズですね。
「その状況は、どうなっていますか」といった意味合いです。

③ We suddenly lost track of Zaytox. 【lose track of 〜の意味】
👉さあ、lost track of 〜というフレーズ – もちろん原形は、lose となり
lose track of 〜となるわけですが、意味合いは「〜を見失う」という意味。
しっかりと覚えておきましょう。

④ He’s safe, but he’s keeping his location a secret.【目的ご説明型 – keep】
👉さあ、keeping his location a secret というフレーズが出てきましたね。
目的ご説明型です。his location ＝ a secret ということを keep するという
わけですね。

⑤ I would love to return to Earth soon. 【 would like to の強調バージョン】
👉 would like to の強調パターン – would love to というフレーズが出てきま
したね。こちらも使えるようにしておいてくださいね。

⑥ I’m willing to trade places with you, Aki. 【複数形の意味】
👉さあ、ここでは places と複数形になっていることに注意してくださいね。
２つの場所 – それを交換することが頭に思い浮かんでいるからです。

⑦ Please do! 【受ける do】
👉もちろん、この do は trade places – これを受けて do と言っているわけです。

Practice

David
▶︎ OK, everyone. It’s time for practice. Are you ready to do it?

Roza
▶︎ I’m happy to get started.

David
▶︎ Nice. Then let’s jump right in.
Our first sentences use “willing.” “Willing” versus “happy.”
“Happy” means that I’m excited to do it, But “willing” is that basic level.
It’s OK. I’m not super excited about it. Let’s try some.
・I’m willing to lead the project. I have experience.
・I’m not willing to do overtime. I have children at home.

Roza
▶︎ OK. Now let’s continue to a couple of examples of “I’m happy to.”
・I’m happy to take you to the airport.
OK. One more.
・I’m happy to go to the store for you.

David
▶︎ Now let’s practice “prepared” and “ready.”
Here we go!
・I’m prepared to drive if needed.
・I’m ready to help out. Just ask.
