Lesson 2６ 基本文型 説明型⑤：wh節を説明語句
▶︎英語は「配置の言葉」
– 語順は「基本文型」と「修飾語順規則」によって決まる。
– Lesson 1 から 9 までは「修飾語順規則」を扱いました。
▶︎Lesson 11 からは「基本文型」を扱っています。
– 英語文中の表現配置の中で最も大切なのが、
文の設計図である「基本文型」
👉今週も、「説明型」で今回は５回目になります。
Opening で
そうだよね。それを[サケ]ないとだめ
だよね。秋乃ろーざです。

Dialogue で
① I’m glad it’s still here.
👉 I’m glad を it’s still here という後ろに置かれた節が
説明するリポート文の形。一息で、無意識に言えるように。
② How romantic, Dad!
👉 How ＋ [形容詞 あるいは 副詞] ＋主語＋動詞！
ここでは主語と動詞が省略されています。
– 感嘆文の基本的なパターン
③ even more
👉「さらにもっと」という意味
④ You know what’s even more romantic?
👉ここでは、”what’s even more romantic” という wh節です。
what を用いて「何がはるかにロマンティックなのか」という
「文の部品」となっています。
⑤ pop the question について
Why do you use “pop” here?
One explanation is the actual word “pop.”
(Pong!) It’s something that happens as a
surprise suddenly.
– So, huh! Will you marry me?
– And Roza, you have another image, right?
Yes, for me, the “pop” refers to the sound
that the engagement ring box opens when
you open it. “Pop!”
After the dialogue
You know what’s even more romantic
than popping the question?
– Our textbook!
Ending
Hey, Chris. Tell me.
Where did you pop the question?
Well, my answer is not very romantic,
‘cause I can’t remember. But, but, but,
but, but, my excuse is it was over
forty-five years ago, OK?
Right. What about you, Sensei?
I don’t remember either.
