発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎８月は
▶︎「発言タイプ」ー【引き出す】【感情を操作する】を勉強します。
日常頻繁にある情報や許可・意見などを相手から引き出したり、励まして
相手の感情を操作する方法についてです。

▶︎今回は「意見」を引き出す表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・デスパレート・ラッツのリードボーカル：ビル・バンガロー (Bill)
・デスパレート・ラッツの他のメンバー
・マネジャーのシンシア (Cynthia)

状況

・スタジオにデスパレート・ラッツのメンバーとシンシアが集まっています。
シンシアがビルが作った新曲を聞いた感想をみんなに伝えているようです。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. I must have done that a hundred times myself.

Onishi
▶︎ Oh, really?

Dialogue で

① Thanks for coming here today.【thank you for の短縮版】
👉さあ、thanks for, thanks you の短いバージョンですね。

② I know it‘s early in the morning.【状況の it】
👉 it’s early in the morning – この it は状況を表している it です。

③ Yes, especially since all of you are night owls. 【owl の発音】
👉 night owls というフレーズが出てきました。読み方「オウル」じゃなくて
「アウル」だということに注意して下さいね。フクロウのことです。

④ Anyway, Cynthia has listened to the new songs I wrote.
【 anyway の役割】
👉さあ、anyway -それまでの話の流れを断ち切る表現です。
「ともあれ」というわけです。「それはそうと」とも訳せます。

⑤ To be honest, Bill they sound a little old-fashioned.
【「指定」は文頭に】
👉さあ、to be honest というフレーズが文頭に出てきました。
もちろん、これは「指定」の位置です。以降の発言内容が正直な話なんだよと、
指定する、だから文頭に出てくるわけです。

⑥ That was on purpose. 【 on purpose の on 】
👉 on purpose「意図的に」「わざと」という表現ですが、
on「基づいて」というわけです。

Practice

David
▶︎ All right, everyone. It’s time for the practice.
Roza, what would you focus on today?

Roza
▶︎ Well, I’d like to focus on the two different ways of saying these
sentences. First, there’s a neutral way.
・We’d like to hear your opinion.
Then there’s another way to emphasize “you.”
・We’d like to hear “your” opinion.
This “your opinion” gives a nuance of “contrast.”
Other people have said their opinion, now we want to hear “your” opinion.
Keep that in mind. You don’t have to use it with every sentence,
but that’s an option.

David
▶︎ Excellent point. All right, guys. Let’s begin.
・Could you share your opinion with us?
・What’s your opinion about it?
・We’d like to hear your opinion?
All of those were the standard neutral way of saying it.

Roza
▶︎ OK, let’s continue. Now let’s try emphasizing the “your.”
・What are your thoughts on that?
・What is your view on that?

David
▶︎ Makes me feel special like the spotlights on me.

▶︎ Great imagery.

David
▶︎ Yeah, all right. Let’s continue.

・Would you tell us how you view the situation?
・Would you tell us where you stand on it?
