Words and Phrases
● ranch▶︎大牧場
– 特に、アメリカ、カナダ、オーストラリアの大牧場を指します。
● run a business ▶︎事業を営む
– run は「自動詞」なら「走る」ですね。
「他動詞」なら「〜を経営する」という意味があります。
Business Phrase of the Day
● respect
We fully respect your decision.
-「尊敬する」と「尊重する」という意味があり、ここでは「尊重する」
▶︎「尊重する」では、「価値のあるものとして大切にする、ぞんざいに扱わない」
というニュアンスになります。
Alternative Expressions – 味方に引き込むときのフレーズ
◎ We should [value] our cooperate 〜.
👉ここでの value は動詞で「価値を見出す」という意味です。
◎ thoughtful
👉 「思いやりのある・心のこもった」という意味です。
◎ 〜 try to [give him some space】
👉時間的なスペース・空間を与える、ということで
「彼のペースに合わせる」という意味で使われています。
最後に
◎雑談は、大切なビジネススキルの１つですね。
It’s good to have some topics ready for conversation, and they
should be things that you enjoy talking about, or are interested in.
– Such as nonpolitical current events, or something that they are
interested in, or something that’s been trending lately.
