会話の場面

・友人のアキ (Aki)
状況
・二人が懐かしいメキシコを訪れて、昔のことを思い出します。そこで教授が一大決心
をして、アキにプロポーズをします。
Opening で

▶︎ Will you marry me?
Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. Hey, David. This is for you.
David
▶︎ What’s this? Oh, my! The Radio Eikaiwa textbook!
I’m David Evans. OK, everyone. Let’s get started.
Dialogue で
① I offered you a cup of iced tea here.【offer の意味】
👉さあ、offer という動詞が出てきましたね。これは「差し出す、勧める、提供する」
というわけですね。
② Why are you on one knee, Brendan?【on のニュアンス 】
👉さあ、ここで on one knee – これは「ひざまつく」と訳しましたね。
これは、one knee – 1つのひざの上に体がのっている – そこから
on が使われています。
Practice

David
▶︎ That’s right. For a serious topic, let’s use a serious tone.

▶︎ Now remember. “Serious” and “angry” are different. So be careful of
the tone here.
