2月のテーマは接続詞  発言の流れを作る

👉2月は、1月に引き続き接続詞ついて学習します。

Lesson 216  理由・原因のフロー ②

「理由・原因」を表すさまざまな形▶︎
① It’s because 〜. / That’s because 〜.    ② That’s why 〜.
③ The reason …..

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. You know, I’m glad relationships between us
aren’t difficult.

Chris
▶︎ Chris McVay here. Ah, you think so? I’m just gonna say, “maybe it’s because
 we have no strange rules here.” In fact, we have no rules at all as far as 
our openings are concerned. Let’s go!

Dialogue で

① I heard that you were a member of the shogi club.
👉 I heard で始まるレポート文の形ですね。
heard の内容を that 以下の説が説明、展開しています。

② I quit a long time ago.
👉 quit という動詞が出てきましたね。
「やめる・中止する」という動詞です。ここでは過去形として使われています。
「随分前に辞めました」ということ。
▶︎ quit の変化:quit – quit – quit

You mean about no dating being allowed?
👉 you mean というフレーズが出てきましたね。
「相手の真意」をたずねるフレーズです。

Practice

▶︎ OK, guys. Are you ready to practice?
Today let’s look at a variety of phrases that express the reason for something.
Are you ready?
・That’s because you didn’t study hard enough.
・That’s because I had no money.
・That’s because he never liked her.

Roza
▶︎  Continuing on.
・That’s why he made that rule.
・That’s why our textbooks are so popular.

Chris
▶︎ OK. Moving on to the next set of examples.
・The reason for his success is that 〜.
・The reason for her popularity is that 〜.
・The reason for their breakup is that 〜.

Roza
▶︎ And our last few examples.
・The reason why I didn’t call you was that my battery was dead.
・The reason that I didn’t call you was that my battery was dead.
・The reason I didn’t call you was that my battery was dead.

Chris
▶︎ OK, guys. Job well done!

▶︎ Excellent work.

▶︎ Hey, guys. We should always read instructions carefully, right?

Chris.
▶︎ Recently I bought some bookshelves. And I thought this is 
the easiest thing in the world. So I didn’t look at instructions.
…It was a disaster.

Roza
▶︎ 先生の instructions あれば、注意深く読まなきゃね。

Onishi
▶︎ Yeah, they would be detailed.
