👉10月もひき続き前置詞の学習です。

Lesson 138 of のイメージ ①

👉 of のイメージ▶︎「 of ＋名詞」は単に「名詞で説明する」

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Akino Roza here.

Chris

Dialogue で

① My name is Linda. / I’m Sota, …
👉さあ、自分の名前の紹介の仕方が２種類出て来ましたね。
前の文では、My name is … そしてこの文では、I’m … を使っていましたね。
どちらでも気軽にお使いください。

② We‘re in the same P.E. class.
👉さあ、ここではWe’re in the same P.E. class. という文が出てきましたね。
be動詞の後ろに前置詞句が使われるパターン。
She is in the kitchen. と全く同じように気軽に使ってみてください。
▶︎ be動詞の後ろに置かれれば、常に説明語句の役割を与えられるわけです。
もちろん、このように前置詞句も説明語句となる「私たち＝ in the same P.E. class」
というわけです。

③ I saw the list of rules on the club’s web page.
👉さあ、on the club’s web page というフレーズが出て来ましたね。
on が使われる、というわけですね。「〜の上に書かれてある」というわけです。
👉そして、web page – b と p が連続して使われていますよね。
Roza さんの発音、聞いていましたか。b と p は一発でいきます。
web-page というわけですね。

④ No dating among club members?
👉そして、among が出てきましたね。
これは、「クラブメンバーの間で、相互で」というわけです。

After the Dialogue

▶︎ Hey, everyone. I think you know our textbook.

▶︎ OK. It’s practice time. And today we’re looking at “of.”
Now basically “of” has no real meaning. So we wanna focus on the notion of
linking. That’s it. Just linking. OK?

▶︎ And remember to think in English.

A member? A team? – A member of the team. That’s what we mean by linking.
OK? So once more.
・a member of the team
・a corner of the room
・a cup of coffee
・a photo of Lucy

▶︎ OK. And the last one.
・This chair is made of wood.
So we can get linking all through those examples very clearly.
