Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

Chris
▶︎ Chris McVay here.  Ah 〜, Oxford, the City of Spires!
How nostalgic! Now we can start!

Dialogue で

I’d like to see other places.
I’d like to – I would like to というフレーズが

I’ve always wanted to visit Stonehenge.

③ I haven’t been there in decades.
👉さあ、I haven’t been 〜.
👉そして、in decades

④ That would be wonderful!

After the Dialogue

Roza
▶︎ You know, I’ve always wanted to read the Radio Eikaiwa textbook.
Can you take me to the bookstore, Chris?

Chris
▶︎ Sure. How about next Saturday?

Roza
▶︎ That would be wonderful.

Practice

Chris
▶︎ OK, guys. Are you ready for our final practice with the verb, “take2?
Going right back to the beginning – the simple image of outstretching,
and then to get something, and then use something.
And today we’re gonna focus on taking and going somewhere.
Take something, take someone, and off you go!
Let’s listen!

Roza
▶︎ And don’t think in Japanese!

Chris
▶︎ Exactly.
・Take your umbrella, OK?
You can see it’s going to rain, so take it, and go with it. That’s all. One last time.
・Take your umbrella, OK?

Roza
▶︎ The same thing applies in the next example.
・Don’t forget to take your driver’s license with you.
So you take your driver’s license, and go somewhere. One last time.
・Don’t forget to take your driver’s license with you.

Chris
▶︎ OK, containing.
・I’ll take you home in my car.
Exactly the same feeling. So let’s just get straight into the repetition.
・I’ll take you home in my car.

Roza
▶︎ Here’s the last example.
・My job took me all over Japan.
So here we have ”my job,” takes me, and goes all over Japan.
Some idea. One last time.
・My job took me all over Japan.
Fantastic!

Chris
▶︎ Great stuff!

Ending

Onishi
▶︎ Chris, have you been to Stonehenge?

Chris
▶︎ Of course. I was one of the original builders …. No, no, I’m not that old.
Yes, I’ve been (there) a couple of times, mysterious place.

Roza
▶︎ What about Woodhenge?
Have you ever been there?

Chris
▶︎ No, I haven’t. I don’t think so. It’s not far, is it?

Roza
▶︎ It’s pretty close, year.
