「時表現」の学習

▶︎ 11月号からは「時表現」の学習が始まりました。

👉12月号のテーマは「時表現を極める②」。
「時表現」は「指定ルール」に従って使われます。今日も引き続き、仮定法の勉強です。

Dialogue で

① during the day「日中」
👉この during は「〜の間に何かが起こる」「〜の間にこうした状態になる」
-「状態」あるいは「起こること」にポイントがあるんです。
※「〜の間」の for – We’ve been friends for twenty years.
のような for は「期間 – どのくらい続くか」にポイントがあるんです。
🔵「状況」に重きが置かれるのが during
🔵「どのくらい続くか」に重きが置かれるのが for
▶︎しっかりと区別しましょう。

② Let’s take a virtual walk together. – let’s の使い方
Chris
▶︎ I’d like to add the point here that many learners say,
“Let’s take a virtual walk with me.”
And you don’t need to say “with me” because it’s already
included in “let’s.” So be careful with that one.

③ while I walk
👉 while は２つの出来事が同時に動いていることを表す接続詞
「〜している間」というわけです。
ここでは、you could watch という出来事と I walk という出来事
が同時に動いていることを表します。
▶︎「私が歩いている間、見ることができますよ」というわけです。

relationship?

▶︎ Well, I had one for about four years. In fact, I think
that’s why it lasted so long.

▶︎ Probably.

▶︎What about you, Chris?

▶︎ Yeah, I had one for a year when my wife was completing
her degree at a French university, and I was completing
my degree at an English university. So that final year,
we were apart.
