1月のテーマは配置転換

👉1月号のテーマは「配置転換」。
英語における配置転換の重要性について勉強していきます。

▶︎さて、今週も「配置転換」についてでですが、
先週で「wh疑問文」の学習は終わり、今週はその他の疑問文についてです。

▶︎ Hi, guys. Chris McVay here. No, I don’t actually.

Dialogue で

① Have a seat.
👉「どうぞお掛けください。」
まとめて覚えましょう。

② It’s in excellent condition.
👉「それは素晴らしい状態です。」
この condition は「状態」という意味で使っています。
覚えましょう。

③ I’d say about 50,000 yen.
👉今のろーざさんの発音、しっかりと注意して聞きましょう。
I’d say と、こう、考えながら言ってるでしょう。
「〜でしょう」という意味合いです。

④ So you paid the right amount.
👉この amount は「量」という意味ですが、
ここでは amount of money「金額」のことを指しています。

Today I want you to feel the power of using “what” or “how,”
position of the sentence.

Let’s start with the straight version.
– You have a cool office.
This is the statement of fact.
But when you use “what” in front of it,
– What a cool office you have!
You can feel the emotion there. 
Then you enter the office, your eyes are wide-open,
and “Baff!”

What a cool office you have!
Let’s try that together.

What a cool office you have! Go!
Can you feel this strength of the emotion there?
Once more!

What a cool office you have!
That’s great!
What a great job you did!

▶︎ Well, it’s an old movie for me.
It was called “Dead Poets Society,” 「今を生きる」.
The story was about a teacher, and being a teacher,
I found that very interesting.

So one that I can think of off the top of my head is
「今度は愛妻家」.
