「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎そのために
▶︎７月も６月に引き続き、「発言タイプ」についてで
人をある方向に「動かす」言語活動の②です。

▶︎「依頼」の成功列をあげる工夫のもうひとつは「報酬の提示」

会話の場面

登場人物

・ヘレン (Helen)
・ギャリー (Gary)

状況

・ヘレンとギャリーが大学の寮で話しています。本棚を組み立てようとしていますよ。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. At least he goes to the gym, right?
OK. Let’s get started.

Dialogue で

① Yeah, I’m so excited.【感情を表す動詞の過去分詞形】
👉さあ、ここでは excite という動詞の過去分詞形 excited という形が
出てきましたね。感情を表す動詞の過去分詞は、誰かの感情を説明するのに
使われます。ここでは、「私が興奮している」ということです。
▶︎ exciting という ing形は使わないようにして下さいね。

② But it looks like you have to set it up together yourself.
【 look like の使い方】
👉さあ、look like「〜のように見える」という表現。
しっかりと覚えておきましょう。like の後ろは、フルセンテンスが来ることが
できますよ。

③ I’m really bad at this. 【 at のニュアンス】
👉さあ、I’m really bad at this. ここの at は「〜の点では」という意味合いですね。
good at, bad at – いろんな形容が使えます。

④ How about a coffee smoothie at Big West Coffee? 【 how about の意味】
👉ここでは、How about 〜？というフレーズが使われていますね。
軽い提案を表す、お馴染みのフレーズ。

⑤ You got it! 【 You got it. の意味】
👉さあ、You got it. これは「了解」あるいは「いいよ」と訳されるフレーズですね。

consider what would be an appropriate reward for helping you have it all.
It’s a good way to show you thanks.
