▶︎「依頼」を表すさまざまな表現を覚えましょう。
会話の場面
登場人物
・デスパレート・ラッツのリードボーカル、ビル・バンガロー (Bill)
・バンドマネージャーのシンシア (Cynthia)
状況
・ビルがギターで曲を作っていると、そのスタジオにシンシアがやってきます。彼は、
彼女に新曲を聞いてもらうことをお願いします。
Opening で
Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza. Hey, David. I wanted to ask you something.
David
▶︎ What’s that?
Roza
▶︎ I know you’re busy, but would it be possible for us to start the lesson?
David
▶︎ Hi, guys. And I’m David Evans. Let’s get started.
Dialogue で
① Actually, I wanted to ask you something.【actually の意味】
👉さあ、ここで出てきたのは acutually – これは、相手にとって意外な内容を
もち出す時の決まり文句。「実は」というわけですね。
② I know you’re busy, but …【相手を慮った前置き】
👉さあ、ここでは I know you’re busy, but … 「相手の心情」に配慮した
効果的な前置きが出てきています。しっかりと覚えておきましょう。
③ Um, let me check my schedule. 【目的語説明型の let】
👉さあ、let me check というフレーズが出てきました。me が check するのを
許せ(let), というわけですね。目的語説明型です。me と check の間に、
「主語と述語」あるいは「＝(イコール)」の関係があります。
④ I’m looking forward to hearing them. 【 look forward to 〜】
👉さあ、look forward to というフレーズが出てきましたね。
「〜を楽しみする」という、お馴染みのフレーズです。

And that’s starting the beginning of the question a little bit slowly.
That would emphasize “お願い,” kind of feeling.
David
▶︎ All right. Pay attention to how we say it. And do your best to repeat with us.
