「時表現」の学習
▶︎ 11月号からは「時表現」の学習が始まりました。

👉12月号のテーマは「時表現を極める②」。
「時表現」は「指定ルール」に従って使われます。今週も先週に引き続き、仮定法 の勉強です。

Opening で

▶︎ Oh, sure. Only every other day.

▶︎ Ah, well, what’s done is done.
Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. Well, hopefully
today we’ll get by without any rude comments.

👉なんとかやっていく
Dialogue で
①Did Masami say anything to you?
👉 anything「何でも」「どれでも」を表す単語です。
「何でもいいから聞かせてくれ」- そうしたニュアンスが
感じられる表現です。
② she said she‘s quitting the club again.
👉この文では時制の一致が起こっていません。
– 主動詞 said が「過去」なのに、従属節は she’s すなわち she is
(「現在形」)となっています。
※時制の一致というのは、かなり気軽に破られるんです。
実際に「現在これが成り立っている」という意識が生まれれば、
時制の一致は平気で破られます。
◎ここでは、「あ〜、彼女は今、将棋クラブを辞めるつもりだね」
と「今のその状況」に、話し手の意識が移っているんですね。
▶︎ですから、時制の一致が破られている、というわけなんです。
③ It’s because of me, right?
👉 because of というフレーズが出て来ました。
because と because of – この２つをしっかりと区別しましょう。
・because は、後ろに「節」を取ります。
・because of は、もちろんその後ろには「名詞」が来ます。
④ Tom が言った rude comment とは？
Onishi
▶︎So what did Tom actually say to Masami?
Chris
▶︎Ah 〜, I think he said something about the number of
boyfriends she has. Is that right?
Roza
▶︎ He said, “How many boyfriends do you need?”
Chris
▶︎ Ah 〜.
Onishi
▶︎ That’s rude.
Roza
▶︎ Very.
After the Dialogue
Roza
▶︎ Don’t worry. Our textbook doesn’t have any rude comments in it.
Onishi
▶︎ That’s what they say.
Grammar And Vocabulary
・That’s what they say. について
👉「みんなが言うことですよ」- そこから
「まあ、みんなが言うことだから、きっと正しいんだよね」
そうしたニュアンスで使われています。

▶︎ Hey, guys. Is there anything you did in the past
that you really want to change?
Roza
▶︎ Well, I tried to live life without regrets.

▶︎ Do you mean “apart from meeting you”?
