3月のテーマは、「会話をするということ」

「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。

◎今年度最終月、３月では、
▶︎「会話の原則」を中心に、
これまで培った英語力を会話力にしていきましょう。

Lesson 222 会話の原則⑩：NAGARE 興味を示す２

👉NAGARE 興味を示す２ーあいづちを打つ
▶︎今回は、「あいづち疑問文」について学びましょう、

会話の場面

登場人物

・異星人ゼイトクス (Zaytox) とマサミ (Masami)

状況

・散歩から帰ってきたゼイトクスが、マサミと話しています。その中で、飛んでないことがわかりますよ….

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

David
▶︎ “Do!” And I’m David Evans. OK, guys. Let’s get to it.

Dialogue で

① Did you have a nice walk?【言えるかどうかがポイント 】
👉こうした文ですね、非常にシンプルな文ですが、言えるかどうかがポイントです。
言えなかったら、練習してくださいね。

② Humans really like mobile phones, don’t they?【付加疑問文の作り方】
👉さあ、ここでは don’t they? と付加疑問文の形になっています。
前半が、一般動詞の文(like) なので、do they? という形で疑問文にするわけですが、
付加疑問文は、「プラス」と「マイナス」を入れ替える、「肯定」「否定」を入れ替えるため、
don’t they? となるわけです。作り方は「、ややこしいですが、この文を覚えるところから
始めてみてください。

③ Nobody cared. 【「強い」表現の nobody 】
👉さあ、Nobody cared. care というのは「気にする」という単語ですね。
「誰も気にしていはいませんでした」という文になっているわけです。
▶︎この nobody というのは、強い表現ですから、「人っこ一人気にしていませんでしたよ」
というわけです。

④ Humans don’t remember where pyramids came from.【文の部品 -wh節】
👉 remember の後ろに、where から始まる wh節が使われています。
「どこからピラミッドが来たのか」- 疑問文の意味をもたない文の部品です。

⑤ We aliens taught humans how to build them a long time ago. 【同格は説明ルール】
👉 we aliens – これは同格ですね。「私たち異星人は」というわけですね。
説明ルール：「説明は後ろに置く」が、生み出す形です。
▶︎そして、how to 〜これは「〜の仕方」というわけです。

⑥ Yes, that’s why they’re everywhere. 【 that’s why 〜. 「それが〜の理由です」】
👉さあ、That’s why 〜. これはよく使われるフレーズですね。

Practice

▶︎ OK, everyone. It’s time to practice. Now this type of conversation is kind of like playing
ball between two people. So imagine when you’re practicing, you’ve just received the ball,
and you wanna continue the flow. OK.

David
▶︎ All right. For each of these, we’ll give you a sentence, and then we’ll practice the reply
together. So this firs one is for “I can drive you home.”
All right. Let’s practice our reply.
– Oh, can you? That would be nice.
Let’s try again.
– Oh, can you? That would be nice.

Roza
▶︎ Here’s our next example.
This one is replying to “Ben and Hiromi broke up!”
– Oh, did they?
One more time.
– Oh, did they?

David
▶︎ OK. Let’s keep going.
Our next is “I’ve been to Hawaii.”
Do you know what we should reply with? I’m sure you do. Let’s do it.
– Oh, have you? ×2

This one is replying to “Cath likes to binge-watch horror movies.”
– Oh, does she? ×２

▶︎ Sometimes it’s hard to choose which to use. So practice again and again
until it’s second nature.
