「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎そのために
▶︎７月も６月に引き続き、「発言タイプ」についてで
人をある方向に「動かす」言語活動の②です。

▶︎「注意」を相手に受け入れてもらうためのひと工夫

会話の場面

登場人物

・ヒロト (Hiroto)
・イタリアン料理店の給士係 (Server)

状況

・イタリアン料理店でヒロト達は、話題が盛り上がり、大声になっていたようです。
そこで店の給士係が、ヒロトにお願いを言いに行きます。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. Sorry to interrupt you two, but it’s time to
get started.

Dialogue で

① Excuse me, sir, I’m sorry to interrupt your meal.
【まとめて覚えるべきフレーズ】
👉 sorry to interrupt you「邪魔して申しわけありません」
これは、もうまとめて覚えておきましょう。

② No problem. 【謝罪に対する「受け」】
👉謝られて、No problem. これもよく使われる「受け」ですね。

③ Is something the matter? 【状況を把握する表現】
👉そして、Is something the matter? 「状況を把握する」表現です。
随分柔らかい表現ですよ。

④ Several other guests have made complaints about the noise coming
from this table. 【 complaints の意味】
👉さあ、complaint という単語が出てきました。重要な単語ですよ。「不平」
という単語です。

⑤ We don’t mind at all. 【 not 〜 at all】
👉さあ、not 〜at all というコンビネーションが出てきましたね。
「全ての点において〜ない」そこから「全く〜ない」という意味になっています。
▶︎ at は「点」を表す前置詞でしたね。

⑥ Or, we’d happy to reseat you outside as well. 【 reseat の意味】
👉さあ、ここでは reseat という単語が出てきましたね。seat に re がついている
わけです。「別の席に案内する」という動詞です。

⑦ You can talk as much as you like there. 【 as much as you like の意味】
👉それから、as much as you like「好きなだけ〜」というフレーズが
出てきました。こちらも、まとめて覚えてくださいね。よく使います。

▶︎ Let’s jump right in. These first phrases are typically used by staff.
All right. Let’s try.
・Excuse me, but could you please get in line?
・I’m sorry, but could you please get in line?
And here’s another.
・I hate to ask this, but could you please get in line?

▶︎ Let’s continue. I want to caution you about using “just.”
Using the word “just” show a bit of frustration. So let’s be careful
when using it. OK? Here’s the example.
・I’m sorry, but could you just stop talking? ×２

David
▶︎ OK. Let’s continue. Here’s our next.
・I’m sorry to have to ask, but would you mind giving up your seats?
These are priority seats.
Let’s go one more time.
