５月のテーマは会話を始める・正しく理解する

「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

実例あげて取り上げていきます。

Lesson 22 発言タイプ：話し合いを求める② 内容の予告

👉話し合いを求める②
▶︎話し合いを求める際に、内容の予告を加える流れ勉強しましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・ロキシー(Roxy)の祖父と祖母

状況

・ロキシーが日本に帰ってしまい、祖父母は寂しい思いをしています。そんな時二人は
ロキシーの忘れ物を見つけたようです。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

David
▶︎ I’m David Evans. Sensei, we need to talk.

Dialogue で

① She’s back in Japan, isn’t she?【付加疑問文】
👉さあ、She’s back in Japan – この She’s, She is のことですね。
文全体を付加疑問文の形です。She is と肯定文で始まっているため、後ろには
否定疑問の形 isn’t she？が加わっています。

② I was cleaning up her room, and I found this.【up のニュアンス】
👉 cleaning up というフレーズが出てきましたね、
clean up これは「掃除をする」というわけですが、up に「完全性」が
感じられます。ピカピカにする感じですね。

③ We can ship it in Japan.【動詞 ship の使い方】
👉さあ、ここでは ship という動詞が出てきましたね、「荷物を発送する」という
わけです。けれども、もちろんこれは「船」という単語から来ている動詞です。
▶︎じゃ、船で送らない場合は使えないのか、という疑問が湧いてきそうですけれども
チョット二人に聞いてみましょう。
◎ Is it OK to use “ship” when sending by air?
David: Yes. It’s OK to use “ship” for general sending.
Roza : And it’s quite common, actually.

④ So do I. 【倒置】
👉「私もです」という表現ですね。
So の後ろに倒置が起こって、do I となっているわけです。勢いのある表現です。

▶︎ OK. Let’s start.

・Have you got a sec? I’d like to talk about the schedule after we get back
from holiday.

Roza
▶︎ Next example.
・Do you have time to talk? I’d like to ask your advice on something.

David
▶︎ All right. Here’s another.
・Can I have a word? I was wondering if you’d like to give a short speech
to the new members.

Roza
▶︎ And our last example. This one serious.
・Can I have a word? We need to discuss your attitude.
Hey, guys. Can I have a word? We need to discuss your excellent work.

David
▶︎ Ooh! That sent shivers down my spine. All right. Great job, everyone.
