５月のテーマは会話を始める・正しく理解する

👉今年度は…
「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎そのために
▶︎５月も４月に引き続き、「発言タイプ」について
実例あげて取り上げていきます。

▶︎話し合いを求める状況で使える表現 – まずは「話がる」を示す定型表現から

会話の場面

登場人物

・新婚のタクマ(Takuma) とケリー(Kelly)

状況

・タクマが洗濯物を干そうとしているときに、ケリーが思いがけない話を持ち出します。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. Ready for today’s lesson?

David
▶︎ I’m David Evans. May you enjoy today’s lesson!

Dialogue で

① Sure, it can wait.【it can wait の表現】
👉「待つことができる」という表現で、「後回しにして構わない」という
意味を出しているわけですね。もう丸ごと覚えて下さい。

② What’s up?【会話でよく使われる表現】
👉そして、What’s up? -「どうしたんだい？」というわけですね。
何か出来事が上にニョキニョキっと出てくるような雰囲気を伴った文です。

③ How’s he doing?【How are you doing? の変形】
👉さあ、How’s he doing? こんな言い方もできるようにしておいて下さいね。
もちろん、How are you doing?と全く同じ「元気ですか」

④ Good, but he’s retiring soon. 【予定を表す現在進行形】
👉さあ、ここで he’s retiring soon. というフレーズが出てきましたね。
retire – これは「退職する」というわけです。そして、これが現在進行形であり、
予定を表す表現だということに留意して下さい。
