4月のテーマは会話の原則・発言タイプ

「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎そのために
▶︎今月はまず、「会話の原則」に続き、「発言タイプ」について
実例あげて取り上げていきます。

Lesson 17 発言タイプ：あいさつ⑥　初対面のあいさつ１

👉あいさつ⑥▶︎初対面のあいさつについて学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・音楽教師のベニー・ジェッツ (Benny Jetz)
・大学生のバート (Burt)

状況

👉ジェッツ先生とバートが、デスパレート・ラッツのコンサートで初めて出会い、
Tシャツの話から始まり、彼らの話題で盛り上がります。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. Ready for today’s lesson?

David
▶︎ Hi, guys. I’m David Evans. OK, everyone. Let’s get ready and
have a good day today.

Dialogue で

① Oh, you do?【代動詞 do】
👉さあ、ここの you do? の do – これは前の発言の “have that same one”
を受けて、you do? と言っているわけですね。

② You did?【代動詞 did】
👉さあ、ここも先ほどの do と同じ、did という形で、
前の文との繰り返しを避けています。

③ So, Bennie, this is my friend Alice.【発言をなめらかにする so】
👉ここの So, Bennie … この so ですね、「それで」この軽い so がですね、
発言をやわらかく、なめらかにしているわけですね。
みなさんも使いこなしてくださいね。

④ You two must be serious fans. 【強い断定の must】
👉ここでは、You two must be serious fans. という文が出てきましたね。
この must は「違いない」という must です。

Practice

David
▶︎ All right, everyone. It’s time to practice.
Let’s make good introductions, OK?

Roza
▶︎ So feel free to use your name when you practice too.
OK. Here’s the first example.
・Hi. Good to meet you. My name is Roza. Are you here by yourself?
And let’s try another variation.
・Hi. Good meet you. My name is Roza. Are you having a good time?

David
▶︎ OK, everyone. Let’s try this next one together.
・Hi. I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m David. Great party, isn’t it?
Let’s look at “met.” If you listen, I don say “met.” I say “met.“
It’s a very soft “t” sound. It’s important for sounding natural.
Try together. “Met,” “met.”

Roza
▶︎ And of course, you can see “met.” But “met” is a very big characteristic
of American English.

David
▶︎ OK, everyone. Let’s go one more time.
・Hi. I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m Davis. Great party, isn’t it?
