4月のテーマは会話の原則・発言タイプ

👉今年度は…
「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎そのために
▶︎今月はまず、「会話の原則」について実例あげて取り上げていきます。

Lesson 13 発言タイプ：あいさつ③ 久しぶりの人への挨拶

👉あいさつ③▶︎しばらくぶりに会ったときのあいさつ

会話の場面

登場人物

・将棋クラブのソウタ (Sota)
・その部室にやってきたマサミ (Masami)

状況

・マサミが将棋クラブにやってきたことに驚いたソウタ。そんなマサミはソウタに「異星人」に
出会ったことを話すと、ソウタは興味津々。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Akino Roza here.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. I thought it was a perfectly fine introduction.

Dialogue で

① What are you doing here?【読み方 – 強調】
👉さあ、ここでは David さんは、you を強く読んでいましたね。
「君は何をしているんだい？」- そこに意味にポイントがあったからです。

② I can’t come here anymore? 【not 〜 anymore】
👉さあ、can’t come here anymore というフレーズが出てきましたね。
not 〜 anymore「もはや〜ではない」というフレーズです。覚えておきましょう。

③ How have you been? – Fine, I guess. 【I guess のニュアンス】
👉さあ、ここで How have you been? と聞かれて、
“Fine.” と答えればいいのに、”Fine, I guess.” – I guess がついてきましたよね。
Roza さん、これはどんな感触でついてる I guess なんでしょうか？
▶︎ So, the “I guess” for Masami is “Ah 〜, fine, but 何か気になることがあるんだけど,”
because she met an alien the other day.
👉 “Fine.” と断言することができない – そんな感触を伴っているわけです。

④ Yes, but something else happened. 【else】
👉さあ、something else – この else は、「他の」というわけです。
「何か他のことがありました」というわけです。

⑤ This I’ve got to hear. 【強調のための倒置】
👉さあ、この文の I’ve got to これは、I have to のことですね。
「〜しなくてはなりません」というわけです。そしてこの文はですね、
I’ve got to hear this. この this が文頭に出てきて、少し意味が強調されている
– そうした形になっています。

⑥ Have a seat. 【Have a seat. の意味】
👉これは、「座って下さい」という表現ですね。
まとめて覚えておきましょう。

Practice – buy time する表現

David
▶︎ OK, guys. It’s practice time. Are you ready to go? – (R) I am.
Let’s start with a question and answer.

Roza
▶︎ Hi, Lucy. It’s been a while.
– (D) Yes, too long.
OK. Let’s continue to another question and answer set.

David
▶︎ Hey, long time no see. What’s new?
– (R) Not much. / Not a lot. / Same old same old.
All right. Let’s keep going.

Roza
▶︎ It’s good to see you again.
– (R) Good to see you too. / You too. / Same to you.
And here’re some more examples.

David
▶︎ Look who it is! How have you been?
– (R) Well, I’ll be. How have you been?
/ If it’s not Onishi Hiroto! How have you been?
I wish it wasn’t Onishi Hiroto, but you guys did great.

David
▶︎ Very good job, everyone.
