2月のテーマは接続詞　発言の流れを作る

👉２月は、1月に引き続き接続詞ついて学習します。

「理由・原因」のフロー▶︎ because：使い道が他にない「単機能」の接続詞
– その他に since, as, so, and など

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

Chris
▶︎ Hi, guys. Chris McVay here. Oh, no! I think I made a lot of mistakes
in my opening.

Roza
▶︎ I didn’t hear any mistakes.

Chris
▶︎ Oh, that’s OK then.

Dialogue で

① Why the sad face?
👉 why と名詞を並べただけの非常に端折った形の文ですね。
こうした文もちゃんと使えるんだということがわかると、
会話も随分楽になりまよ。

② I made a lot of mistakes.
👉 make lots of mistakes まあ、こうした make と mistakes のつながりも
しっかりと頭に入れておきましょう。

③ They were obvious.
👉さあ、obvious という形容詞が出てきましたね。これは、「明らかな」「明白な」
「見ればわかる」というニュアンスです。

④ I definitely want to take part in another recital.
👉 さあ、ここで recital – これは「発表会」ですね。
日本語で「リサイタル」と言えば、芸能人の方が行うすごく大規模なものを
想像するかもしれませんが、こうした、小さい子が参加するというようなものを
リサイタルと言うことができます。

⑤ Isn’t it too cold for cream?
👉さあ、ここで否定疑問文が出てきましたね。Isn’t it too cold ….?
という形ですね。否定疑問文は、意外•心外、あるいは同意を求める気持ち、
あるいあ不信感 – いろんなものを表す形です。ここでは、同意を求める感情が
含められていますね。

⑥ That sounds better.
👉 better これは good の比較級ですね。「より良い」
不規則変化ですので、good – better – best しっかりと覚えておきましょう。
bad は、bad – worse – the worst 覚えていましたか？

After the Dialogue

▶︎ OK, guys. Let’s practice.
Today we’re going to look at connecting words that indicate
a reason or cause of relationship. OK? Let’s attack!
・I didn’t play so well, since I didn’t practice enough.
So here we’re focusing on “since.”
・I didn’t play so well, since I didn’t practice enough.

Roza
▶︎ The next example will use “as.”
・I didn’t play so well, as I didn’t practice enough.
One more time.
・I didn’t play so well, as I didn’t practice enough.

Chris
▶︎ OK. Moving on.
・I didn’t practice enough, so I didn’t play so well. ×２

Roza
▶︎ And our last example with “and.”
・I didn’t practice enough, and I didn’t play so well. ×２
I know you guys did practice enough, and you did very well.

Chris
▶︎ That’s exactly right.
