👉NAGARE 興味を示す１ー反応し会話の「速度」を上げる
▶︎今回は、「興味を示す」表現を学んでいきましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・マサル(Masaru) とロキシー (Roxy)

状況

・マサルが観た映画 “Atlantis Wars” について、ロキシーに話していますよ。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza. Thanks for joining us on this beautiful Monday.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. OK, everyone. Let’s jump right into it.

Dialogue で

① What happens in it?【 wh語が主語の場合の疑問文 】
👉さあ、この文は wh疑問文 – 主語をたずねる文の形ですね。
主語をたずねる wh疑問文は、主語の位置に、wh語をポンと置いてあげるだけでつくることが
できます。ここでは、what をポンと happens の前に置いて文をつくっていますね。
「何が起こるの？」というわけですね。

② So, a long time ago, the people of Atlantis built pyramids all over the world.
【 a long time ago の意味】
👉 a long time ago – これは「昔々」ということですね。

③ They had really advanced technology. 【 advanced の意味】
👉 advanced – これは「高度な、先進的な」という単語。

④ And then, there was a big war and everything got destroyed. 【 then の働き】
👉さあ、And then … というフレーズが出てきました。then は、「視線の移動」を表す
単語ですね。「そして、それから」- 視線が動いていることを感じてみてください。

Practice

▶︎ OK, everyone. Let’s jump into today’s practice. Today we’ll focus on active
listening. Some people, when they speak, wait for the other person to say
something as a sign it’s OK to continue and to understand they are listening.
So these phrases are very important to master. OK?

▶︎ These phrases are pretty short. So be sure to pay attention to the rhythm
when you practice.

David
▶︎ Right. Let’s go.

・Hmm …

▶︎ Let’s continue.
・Right.
・OK.
・Uh-huh.
・Sure.
・Sure thing.
・Oh, I see.

▶︎ We have so many options. Choose one that works for you.

・And then?
・Go on.
・What then?
・Then what?

Roza
▶︎ OK. And the last few are in sentence form.
・That sounds interesting.
・That sounds great.
・That sounds scary.
・That sounds rough.
・That sounds tough.
