引き続き基本動詞のイメージをつかみ
「日本語を経由せず、英語を使う力」を養います。

👉 keep のイメージは「そのままの状態を保つ」

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

Chris
▶︎ Hi, guys. Chris McVay here. But listen! I’m not ready.
I’m putting on my make-up.

Roza
▶︎ Chris! This is the radio. You don’t need make-up.

Chris
▶︎ All right, it’s OK. Then let’s start.

Dialogue で

① How long does it take?
👉 How long「どのくらい長く」というわけですね。大きな wh語です。
そして、その後ろは does it と疑問文の形になっていますよね。
👉そして、使われた動詞は take。これは「時間などがかかる」というわけ
ですね。手に取って使う、という感触で「かかる」と使われているわけです。

② What’s the big hurry?
👉まあ、これはですね、全部まとめて覚えておきましょうか。
この big の使い方ですよね。なかなか英作文はできない文ではあると
思います。

③ We’ve been there a thousand times.
👉それから We’ve been there というわけですね。
これは現在完了経験用法ですね。「行ったことがある」という意味で
been と言っています。
👉そして a thousand times これは「白髪三千丈」みたいなですね、
誇張表現です。

④ Nobody cares.
👉さあ、Nobody cares. 「誰も気にしない」これもまとめて
覚えておきましょうね。

⑤ The mall isn’t going to disappear.
👉そして、disappear という動詞が出てきました。
これは「消える・なくなる」という意味の動詞。日常語ですよ。

Today we’re focusing on “keep.” Well, the key image here is continuation.
So for example, you guys are listening to our program now, right?
So I would say to you, “Keep listening to our program. Don’t change channel.
Don’t do anything. Just continue.”
That’s the feeling for all the examples we’re going to practice.
