Lesson 21 基本文型 説明型①：be動詞文の基本

▶︎英語は「配置の言葉」
– 語順は「基本文型」と「修飾語順規則」によって決まる。
– Lesson 1 から 9 までは「修飾語順規則」を扱いました。

▶︎Lesson 11 からは「基本文型」を扱っています。
– 英語文中の表現配置の中で最も大切なのが、
文の設計図である「基本文型」

👉今週からは、「説明型」についてです。

Opening で

Dialogue で

① I love watching movies.
👉 love の目的語が watching – 動詞 ing形が来る形です。
もちろん、to 不定詞 を使って、I love to watch movies.
としてもOKです。
クリスさんから

Another point here is the use of the plural. Many learners say,
“I love watching movie,” or “I love watching a movie.”
Please remember to use the plural when you’re talking in general.
▶︎ I love watching movies.

大西先生から

movies – 映画全体を示す表現になっています。「映画というもの」を見るのが
好きだ、という意味です。
▶︎「犬が好きです」は、I like a dog. でなく、I like dogs. です。

 

 

 

 

② try to 〜 という表現
👉 to は方向を示す前置詞です。
to 以下の方向に向かって、try している – つまり「〜しようと
している」という意味になります。
③ promote
👉 pro は「前に」という意味。
promote で「前に進む」というもともとの意味があります。
そこから、「促進、推進」という意味が出てきます。

OK, guys. Look at today’s key sentence. I’m a filmmaker. It sounds very simple, but what we remember you to is that the verb “be to” has no real meaning. It just acts the link between  the subject and the explanation that follows.
– So the most important thing is to grasp the rhythm.

– Are you ready? Let’s practice.
– That’s it. Once more.

– Ah, now the complete sentence.
I’m a filmmaker. I’m a filmmaker.

👉「元に戻す」がイメージ。「修復する」
