Opening で

▶︎ What’s that?

▶︎ Aren’t you glad we met?

▶︎ Yea, you gave me a credit card. I mean your card at that bar.
Dialogue で
① 〜 simply wonderful!
👉この simply という単語ですね、「単に」という意味もありますけれども、
「本当に、とても」と強調表現で使われることもしばしばあります。
ご注意くださいね。
② Right, and then ..,,
👉 さあ、ここで and then – この then の感触ですよね。
then というのは、視線の移動を表しますよね。
「そうだよ」と言ってから、「そしてあなたが何をしたのか」
次の出来事に視線が移って感じ〜それが then で表されているわけなんですね。
and then – しっかりとこのニュアンスを覚えてください。
③ you called to order takeout from here.
👉そして、ここでは order という動詞が出てきましたね。「注文する」です。
👉そして、takeout – これは「持ち帰り用の料理」というわけですね。
④ our chai is the tastiest you’ll ever have.
👉さあ、面白い表現が出てきましたよ。

まずは、最上級には範囲表現がしばしば伴うことに注意しましょう。
どの範囲で、tastiest なのか、というわけですね。
それをここの文で示しているのが、you’ll ever have です。
▶︎そして、この you’ll ever have ですね。
この ever – この単語「これまでに」と日本語訳で覚えている人は、もう
わからなくなってしまいますよね、この表現。だって、これ「未来」のこと
について述べているわけですから、「これまでに」ってあるわけないんですね。
▶︎ ever とは、at any time – 「どの時点をとっても」というわけです。
「あなたが、これからの人生、どの点をとっても、飲むチャイ全ての中で、
最も美味しい」と言っているわけです。

Today we’re going to practice the verb “get.”
Now “get” always contains some feeling of a process it’s involved.
Therefore the image is of motion before something arrives into
your hands.
So let’s practice with that feeling, and that image in mind.

① take a taxi
👉「タクシーにしますよ」
※「選び取る」感触も加わっているが、そこには動きがない
② get a taxi
👉「タクシーを捕まえてくる」
※その場にないタクシーを「捕まえる」動きのニュアンスがある
