Words and Phrases
● rocket science ▶︎ロケット科学、難しいこと

It’s considered to be one of the most difficult sciences that
only the smartest scientists can handle.
– Something that’s not rocket science means that it’s not
difficult to understand.
● single-use ▶︎使い捨ての
– Something that’s single-use is meant to be used one time
and then thrown away as garbage.
– Aside from plastic bags, a few examples of other single-use
plastics include beverage bottles, straws and food wrappers.
● The rest is history. ▶︎あとは知ってのとおりです。
– This is a phrase used to mean that everything that comes after
what you say is a well-known fact, or easily imagined and
no further description is necessary.
– For example, my grandparents have been married for fifty
years, they met in college, and the rest is history.
● assignment ▶︎課題
– A task given to someone. Homework. A job or project that
needs to be completed. A directive.
– For example, my boss gave me a new assignment that I have to
complete by the end of this month.
● dump ▶︎捨てる

To dispose of something usually in a careless way.
– An example would be “we went to the beach, and saw
