Lesson 233 会話の原則19：HAIRYO 相手の心情の配慮する
👉HAIRYO 相手の心情に配慮する
▶︎今回から、しばらく HAIRYO に関わる表現を学びましょう。まずは、「相手の心情」の配慮。
会話の場面
登場人物
・俳句愛好家のエモリさん (Mr. Emori) とシンディ (Cindy)
※二人は四国の松山に来ています。
状況
・松山は、正岡子規の故郷。二人は、子規の話、そしてそこから夏目漱石の話まで出てきますよ。
Opening で
Roza
▶︎ I don’t mean to be rude, but you’re not so funny. Hi, everyone. This is Akino Roza.
David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. I’m pretty sure that joke is well known.
Dialogue で
① I can see why this place is famous for haiku.【 see のニュアンス 】
👉さあ、I can see – この see は「理解する」というニュアンスで、使われていますね。
▶︎そして、is famous for 〜 というフレーズが出てきました。この for は、「理由・原因」を
表しています。「俳句で有名」というわけですね。
② He is known far and wide for his writings.【 far and wide の意味 】
👉さあ、he is known far and wide と出てきましたが、far and wide これは「広範囲に」
というわけですね。「遠く、そして広く」というわけです。
▶︎そして、この文のフレーズは、he is know for 〜 というわけですね。
「彼は、〜によって知られている」つまり for は、「彼が知られている、有名な理由」を
表しているわけです。
③ Well, he was good friends with Natsume Soseki.【 friends と複数形になっている理由 】
👉さあ、he was good friends この -s がついているのは、
「友達関係にあった」「友達同士で会った」というところから、-s がついているわけです。
