「好き」「嫌い」など、個人差はあれ、感情を述べる機会は頻繁にあります。
基本的な感情表現をマスターし、会話に彩りを添えましょう。

▶︎今回は、「恋愛感情」に関わる表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

・ロキシーの母親 (Mom) と父親のアダム (Adam)

状況

・両親が最近のロキシーについて、話をしています。何か、「幸せいっぱい」の様子のようですが…

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza. Ready for today’s lesson?

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. As always, it’s sunny here in the studio.

Dialogue で

① No, she seems really happy.【説明型オーバーラッピングの形をとる seem 】
👉さあ、she seems really happy. という文が出てきましたね。これは説明型オーバーラッピング
の形です。she ＝ really happy に見える、というわけです。

② I didn’t think he was her type. 【 not は主節に置くのが英語の標準】
👉英語では、I didn’t think「私はそうは思わなかった」- think を否定するように、not を前に
(主節に)置くのが、標準的な語順です。

▶︎ Hey, guys. If someone suddenly said to you, “I love you,” would you be
surprised?

David
▶︎ Ah 〜, if they meant it as like I love you as a fan, not really. But if they looked me
deep in the eyes, and said, “I love you,” yeah, it would be a s bit of a shock.

Roza
▶︎ Usually saying I love you in that kind of situation implies an already established
relationship.
