発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。

▶︎「感情表現」を学んでいきます。
「好き」「嫌い」など、個人差はあれ、感情を述べる機会は頻繁にあります。
基本的な感情表現をマスターし、会話に彩りを添えましょう。

▶︎「好き」の次は「嫌い」。「嫌い」に関わる一般的な表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・南の島で暮らすダグ (Doug) とシホ (Shiho)

状況

・シホが始めた eco-tourism ビジネスがとても順調のようで、お祝いをしようとしています。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. I think I might go to bed.

Dialogue で

① Doug, our eco-tourism business is really taking off.【 take off の意味】
👉さあ、taking off – take off というのは、「飛行機離陸する」のと同じイメージです。
「軌道に乗る」というわけですね。

② Yes, they made a big difference. 【 make a big difference の意味】
👉さあ、ここでは made a big difference というフレーズが出てきましたね。
make a big difference – これは「大きな影響を及ぼす」というフレーズです。
▶︎ difference -「相違点」という単語１つを覚えても、なかなか会話では役に立ちません。
こうした大きなフレーズとして頭に入れることを、心がけてみてください

③ The Okinawan dish?【 Okinawa の形容詞】
👉さあ、Okinawa の形容詞 – Okinawan が出てきましたね。こちらも覚えておきましょう。

▶︎ OK. Today’s practice is about when we don’t like something. Just like with affection,
there’re levels and layers to expressing how much we don’t like something. So try to
find the word that’s most appropriate to match your emotion, and also the situation
that you’re in.

Roza
▶︎ Ready to practice?

David
▶︎ Here’s our first.
・I don’t like dogs.
・I dislike dogs.
“Dislike” is a word that’s more common in written than spoken.
But it’s good to remember. And here’s one more.
・I hate dogs.

Roza
▶︎ Let’s continue.
・I can’t stand the stress.
And one more version.
・I can’t bear the stress.

David
▶︎ All right. Let’s keep going.
・That’s bad.
・That’s terrible.
・That’s awful.
・That’s vile.

Roza
▶︎ OK. And these last two are soft ways for expressing “dislike.” Let’s try them together.
・That’s not for me.
・That’s not really my thing.

David
