私たちが日々行なっている、可能性や重要性、難易、優先などの判断を精度高く
表現することが目標です。

▶︎今回から、重要性を伝える表現を学びましょう。
会話の場面

・不動産営業部員のバーバラ (Barbara)
・インド料理レストラン店主のディーパック (Deepak)
状況
・バーバラがスポーツジムでトレーニングしていると、ディーパックをばったり会って話をします。
Opening で
Roza
▶︎ The important thing is to come. This is Akino Roza.
David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. Let’s jump right in.
Dialogue で
① What a coincidence!【 決まり文句の１つ 】
👉さあ、ここでは What a coincidence! というフレーズが出てきましたね。
「なんて偶然なんでしょう！」決まり文句です。
② I decided I needed to get into shape. 【 decide のニュアンス 】
👉さあ、decide という動詞は「決める」という訳が当てられるわけですけれど、
なかなかそれではうまくいかないことってあるんですね。この文はその典型です。
▶︎ I decided I needed 〜.「私が必要だということを決めました」これじゃ、意味がわからない
わけですね。- decide というのは、「あっ！これだ」と、「この方法で行こう」と、そうした
判断する – それが decide の意味合いなんですね。
「私はそうする必要がある」そうした判断をした、という意味合いの文なんです。
