７月のテーマは、動かす② 指示・依頼

発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎そのために
▶︎７月も６月に引き続き、「発言タイプ」についてで
人をある方向に「動かす」言語活動の②です。-

Lesson 62 発言タイプ：指示② 助動詞などによる指示

👉指示② 助動詞などによる指示
▶︎助動詞などを用いて「指示」を出すこともできます。

会話の場面

登場人物

・火星基地にいるアキラ (Akira)
・メーガン船長 (Megan)

状況

・アキラに対してメーガン船長が、「新しい指示」と「良い知らせ」を伝えています。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. Wow, Onishi Sensei, you really are a Maverick,
aren’t you?

Dialogue で

① Akira, how is everything on Mars Base? 【how の意味】
👉さあ、この how の使い方ですね。「どのよう」ということを意味する how
ですが、How is everything on Mars Base? こうした使い方、できると
素晴らしいと思いますね。

② The base is expanding, which is good.【expand の意味】
👉 expand「拡大する」という動詞です。

③ That’s great to hear.【説明をする to hear】
👉さあ、That’s great to hear. That’s great と言った後、何をするのが great か
「聞くのに great だ」と言っているわけですね。

④ Standing by for new orders. 【stand by の意味】
👉 stand by「待機する」という意味のフレーズですね。

⑤ Yes, the good news is that a spaceship with lots of sushi will leave for Mars soon.【具体的な内容を伝える that節】
👉さあ、the good news is の後ろが節になっていますね。that を使った節に
なっている – このパターン、しっかりと頭に入れておきましょう。
👉そして、leave for「〜に向けて出発する」というわけですね。
「向かう」の for が活きています。

⑥ That is heartening news. 【 heartening の意味】
👉 heartening「元気づけられるような」- この形容詞も覚えておきましょう。

⑦ You should read some good books to pass the time.
【pass the time の意味】
👉 pass the time「ひまをつぶす」というフレーズです。

▶︎ I am. Let’s get started.

▶︎ All right. So today we’re practicing “orders.”
Let’s try a few different forms. Here’s the first.
・You must submit a ten-page report by tomorrow.
One more time, yeah.

This one is more along of the lines of advice. Let’s try together.
・You should see the doctor.

▶︎ Great work, so far.
These nest few use “You’d better.” It feels like advice too, but if you listen to
my intonation, you understand it’s a very strong suggestion.
・You’d better tell your boss.
Let’s try one more.
・You’d better lie down.

Roza
▶︎ OK. One last example.
・You are to remain on Mars until further notice.
This one is a very formal phrase. Let’s try one more time.
・You are to remain on Mars until further notice.
