6月のテーマは、動かす① 提案・申し出・アドバイス・約束

「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

実例あげて取り上げていきます。

👉すすめる③ 参加をすすめる
▶︎相手に「参加をすすめる」日常頻繁に使われる表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・ロキシー (Roxy)
・友人のマサル (Masaru)

状況

・ロキシーとマサルが大人気喫茶店ビッグ・ウエスト・コーヒーでバーベキューの
話をしています。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. We got a lot on the menu for today.
So let’s jump right in.

Dialogue で

① OK, Roxy, I got you a Big West cappuccino. 【授与型 get】
👉さあ、この文ですね、get の後ろに you と a Big West cappuccino – この２つの
カタマリがありますよね、授与型です。
「あなたに」「カプチーノを」- 買ってあげました、という表現ですね。

② I thought they came from there.【時制の一致】
👉さあ、ここで時制の一致が行われています。
I thought「主節」の動詞が過去形ですので、they came といって「過去」になる、
というわけです。過去 → 過去の連鎖が行われているというわけです。

③ Oh, that reminds me. 【他動型 remind】
👉さあ、ここでは remind という動詞が使われていますね。
この使い方、しっかりと注意しておきましょう。他動型で使われます。
「思い出せる」というわけですね。

④ I love barbecues. 【限定詞なしで、複数形】
👉さあ、ここで barbecues といって、複数形になっていることに注意しましょう。
限定詞がなく、そして複数形 – つまりこれは、barbecue 一般が好きなんだ、と言ってる
わけですね。
▶︎「私は犬は好きです。」
これは、I love dogs. となります。このコンビネーション(限定詞なしで、複数形)、
しっかりと覚えておきましょう。

⑤ Dad is also serving his specialty, seafood paella. 【specialty の意味】
👉さあ、ここで specialty という表現が出てきましたね。
これは、「得意料理」というわけです。ここではね。

⑥ You told me your dad is a good cook. 【時制の一致は破られる】
👉さあ、ここでは You told me の後ろに節が並んだリポート文がやはり
使われています。でもここでは、You tole me 主節の動詞句が過去(told) であるにも
かかわらず、節内は、is になっていますね。
▶︎つまり、時制の一致が行われていない、ということです。
時制の一致というのは、義務的な規則ではありません。
your dad is a good cook -「今でもいい料理人だ」ということをですね、話し手が
意思している時には、時制の一致は簡単に破られます。
ご注意してくださいね。

▶︎ Well, today’s specialty is “practice.”

David
▶︎ All right. OK, everyone. Here we go!
・I’d like to invite you to dinner.
・I’d like to invite you to my birthday party.

▶︎ Let’s continue.
・I’m planning a potluck dinner. Why don’t you come over?

David
▶︎ Now let’s try some different styles of invitation. Here we go!
・We’re playing rugby next week.
