英語における配置転換の重要性について勉強していきます。
Lesson 1８３ 主語ー助動詞倒置①：So do I.
Opening で

Dialogue で
① cannot help 〜ing
👉ここでは couldn’t help 〜ing でした。
これは「どうしても〜してしまう」「〜せざえるを得ない」
というフレーズです。しっかりとマスターしましょう。
※ I couldn’t help noticing your Desperate Rats cap.
② notice
👉 notice「気づく」という動詞。これは sense「感じる」という動詞に、
ニュアンスが近いんです。「あっ」という感じです。
③ I like some of their old stuff, too.
👉「彼らの古い曲」という意味で、stuff という単語が使われています。
この stuff という単語は….
日本語で「もの」を言うのを、いいかげんに読む時ってありますよね。
「僕のもん、取ってくれる？」-「僕のもん(もの)」みたいな言い方する時が
ありますよね。それと同じです。
※ thing より、ゆるい感じがするんです。thing の代わりに stuff – と
使うわけです。
④ I’ll definitely watch it.
▶︎ definitely
「絶対に、間違いなく」という単語です。会話に勢いを添える表現です。
▶︎ watch
「見る」という単語。「じっと見る」ですから、
番組などをじっと注意して見る – そうした感触が伝わってきます。

▶︎ Really?

▶︎ Yeah, check it out!

So there’s two parts here, right?
– The first part is “I love their music.”
You all know that, right? It’s very easy.
– The second part is “So do I.”
“So do I.” is always accompanied by a strong emotion.
Here the emotion is “excitement.”
“So do I.” OK?
Now let’s put it together and practice.
