Dialogue で

👉「ちょっと見てみる」
しっかりとまとめて覚えましょう。

② out of 〜
👉これは、from の意味で使われています。

③ nice and golden brown
👉形容詞にいい印象を残すため、nice and 〜を加える
– こうした言い方がなされていることはよくあります。
例えば、nice and soft – よく使われます。
Onishi

▶︎Well, it’s a really combination. So nice and cool,
nice and refreshing…

▶︎nice and comfortable.

④ Exactly.
👉ここでは、Yes. の代わりに Exactly. を使って勢いを出しています。
こうした使い方ができるようになれば、英会話も上達している、という
わけです。

nuance of “had better” compared with “should.”
・We use “had better” when the situation has some urgency,
when there will be a negative consequence if you don’t do something.
・So in today’s key sentence, We had better clean up the kitchen
before Mom gets back, or she will get very angry.
So we have that feeling when use this “had better.” After me.

– We had better clean up the kitchen before Mom gets back. Go!

・I think you can get better than that, the feel – urgency “what’s
gonna happen?” You don’t want Mom to get angry

– We had better clean up the kitchen before Mom gets back. Try again!

・Yes, that’s much better. And You’d better to listen to my advice,
or I’ll get angry.
