「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。

◎1月から２ヶ月にわたって
▶︎「感情表現」を学んでいきます。
「好き」「嫌い」など、個人差はあれ、感情を述べる機会は頻繁にあります。
基本的な感情表現をマスターし、会話に彩りを添えましょう。

👉感情⑦ 無関心
▶︎今回は、「興味・関心がない」ことを表すフレーズを学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・フランキー (Frankie) とジーニー (Jeannie)

状況

・二人が、図書館の屋外デッキで話をしています。フランキーは、SF小説を今読んでいるようです。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. I had no idea you were into such interesting topics.

Dialogue で

① They mention us.【 mention のニュアンス】
👉さあ、mention という動詞が出てきました。「手短にふれる」という単語ですね。
覚えておきましょう。

② Us? 【目的格のニュアンス】
👉ここは、目的格 – 自分たちを指差して、us と言っている感触ですよ。

③ Besides, I don’t like the word “android.”【 besides の機能】
👉さあ、besides というフレーズが出てきましたね。「その上」というわけです。
ここでは、「論点を加える」形で使われています。

④ I don’t want to be called an “android” in the first place.
【 in the first place の意味】
👉さあ、in the first place – これは、「そもそも」という表現。まとめて覚えておきまhそう

Practice

David
▶︎ OK, everyone. Let’s get into today’s practice. These phrases can be very dismissive,
and put a wall between you and the listeners. So be careful what situation you use
them in. But it’s good to have them in your picket.

Roza
▶︎ Great point, David.

▶︎ All right. Let’s jump right in.
・Who cares about that?
・Who cares about a little scratch?
・Who cares about getting first place?

Roza
▶︎ Let’s continue.
・I don’t care.
・That doesn’t matter.

David
▶︎ So dismissive. All right. Here’s a few more.
・That’s none of my business/
・That’s irrelevant to me.
・I don’t want to get involved.

Roza
▶︎ And our last few.
・I have zero interest in 〜.
・No one cares.
This next one is a phrase that you really hear quite a bit.
So let’s practice twice.
・I couldn’t care less about 〜.
・I couldn’t care less about 〜.
