👉２月は、1月に引き続き接続詞ついて学習します。

if のさまざまな表現▶︎ as if「あたかも〜のように」仮定法を用いる

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here.

Chris
▶︎ Hi, guys. Chris McVay here. I wish it took me only 15 minutes
to get to the studio. But it actually takes over an hour. Now that’s life.

Dialogue で

① It only took 15 minutes!
👉 さあ、It only took …. only ですので、否定的なニュアンスが加わって
「15分しか〜ない」まあ、そんなニュアンスとなります。
▶︎そして、ここでは took「手に取る」という take という動詞が使われています。
「15分間を手に取って使う」- そこから「(15分)かかる」という意味になって
います。

② I can’t believe it.
👉さあ、I can’t believe it. 「信じられないわ」もう、これはですね、分解せずに
１つの単語として取り扱えるように、しっかりと練習してみてください。

Practice

▶︎ OK, guys. It’s practice time.
Today let’s focus on the word “if.” This is a very useful word to practice.
So today we’re looking at a variety of phrases using “if.”
Are you ready to start? Here we go!
・My parents still treat me as if I were a little kid. ×２
・She looks as if she’s about to cry.

This is a really good phrase to memorize. And one more.
・If only I had more money.

▶︎ OK . So up to now, we focused on “as if” and “if only.”
Now one more.
・I don’t care even if you have no money.
