５月のテーマは会話を始める・正しく理解する

👉今年度は…
「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。
などへとゆっくり進めていきます。

◎そのために
▶︎５月も４月に引き続き、「発言タイプ」について
実例あげて取り上げていきます。

▶︎相手から新しい情報を詳細に聞き出す表現

会話の場面

登場人物

・ピアニスト教師のストラヴィンスキー先生(Ms. Stravinsky)
・エイミーの父親ウェイン(Wane)

状況

・エイミーとのレッスン終了後、父親のウェインがストラヴィンスキー先生に、
「なぜヨーロッパを離れたのか」と尋ねます。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. L

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. There’s funny story sprouting up all around us.

Dialogue で

① At my age, there are no personal questions, but certainly you can.
【certainly の意味】
👉さあ、certainly と言う単語が出てきましたね。「確かに」というわけです。

② In short, I wanted to experience life in America.【want と to の組合せ】
👉さあ、in short「手短に言えば」という表現。しっかりと覚える必要のある
表現ですね。
▶︎そして、I wanted to というフレーズが出てきました。want という動詞は
「欲する」「これから〜したい」という動詞ですから、「これから」がニュアンスに
含まれる to 不定詞が後ろに続いているわけです。

③ I was especially attracted to the new trends in music.【それぞれの意味】
👉さあ、especially という表現。「特に」という表現が出てきましたね。
▶︎そして、ここでは trend という名詞が出てきました。これは「トレンド」
あるいは「流行・動向」を意味する単語です。
