👉1月は、限定詞・名詞関連・接続詞のイメージについて学習します。
今週から、「接続詞」を扱います。

A or B▶︎「AかB」 or は選択を表す接続詞

Opening で

Chris
▶︎ Let’s get started.

Dialogue で

① So, where do you want to go?
👉日本語でも突然疑問文を始めたりは、なかなかしないですよね。
「え〜それで」そんな風に会話に勢いをまずつけますよね。
その so という使い方ですね。

② I need to go to the Hotel Belle Roza.
👉さあ、 need to – need は「必要がある」というわけですよね。
そして、これからする必要があるので、矢印のイメージをもち、
「これから」が暗示される to が使われて、need to になっています。

③ Wonderful, isn’t it?
👉さあ、Wonderful, isn’t it? 付加疑問文の形が出てきましたね。
もちろん、It’s wonderful – it’s が省略されて、wonderful と始めています。
そして、もちろん、it’s 〜の文だから、isn’t it? となっているわけです。

Practice

▶︎ It’s practice time.
Today let’s practice another linking word, namely “or.”
Now once again, rhythm is the really important thing here.
You’ve got to catch the rhythm.
This time “or” indicates “a choice.” So choice is the key word.
A or B. A or B. OK. Here we go!
・Which color do you like, red or blue?
Red, choose – choose – choose, or blue. Another one.
・I’m not sure if that was brave or stupid.
Next one.
・Do you agree or disagree?

▶︎ Here’s a couple more.
・Uluru, or Ayers Rock, is sacred to Aboriginal people.
Next one.
・Fifty or sixty people attended the party.

▶︎ OK. Continuing on.

▶︎ OK. That one is directly from the dialogue, isn’t it? Roza?

Roza
▶︎ It is. So let’s try one more time.

▶︎ Excellent work!

in the world?
