👉12月からは、副詞・限定詞について勉強をします。

👉 now は「今」・現時点を表す単語▶︎使い勝手のいい数多くの使い方あり

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

Chris
▶︎ Hi, guys. Chris McVay here. I’m eager to start today’s lesson.

Dialogue で

① That message from the crystal egg was unbelievable.
👉さあ、今クリスさんが簡単に That message from the crystal egg と
おっしゃていましたが、もちろん私たちにとってですね、これぐらい長い主語は
なかなか取り扱いづらいものがあるわけですね。しっかりと長い主語を
「かたまり」として理解しながら、ポンと出す訓練をしてみてください。

② Yes, but now that we understand the aliens’ intentions, ….
👉Yes, but …というフレーズが出てきましたね。
もちろん、会話というのはですね、キャチボールなんですね。従って、相手の発言を
無視して自分の言いたいことをポンと出すわけには、いかないんですね。
▶︎メーガンは「私たちは意図がわかったから、選択肢を考えましょう」みたいな
ですね、そんな話に持っていきたいわけですが、その前に Yes, と言ってですね、
相手の発言をしっかりと受け取っているんですね。
この Yes, but … しっかり練習してみてくださいね。

③ They said they are eager to meet us.
👉さあ、ここで eager という形容詞が出てきました。「〜したがっている」という
形容詞ですけれども、もちろん、to 不定詞と非常に仲がいいんですね。
▶︎「〜したがっている」というのは、「これから〜したがっている」わけです。
矢印のイメージを持ち「これから」が内因する to 不定詞が仲良くなるわけです。

④ I’m not sure about that.
👉「確信がもてない」「どうかしら？」そうした表現が、この I’m not sure about that.
という表現なんですね。しっかりとまとめて覚える必要があります。

⑤ The alien ship has appeared again, just now.
👉 appear「現れる」という動詞。初心者には、ちょっと難しい動詞かも
しれませんが、しっかりと覚えておいてください。

⑥ Put on your spacesuit, Akira.
👉さあ、put on「身に着ける」という表現が出てきました。
まとめて覚えておきましょう。
