２月のテーマは受動態・比較

👉２月号のテーマは「受動態・比較」。
– 今まで学んだ配置の知識を使って表現の場を広げていきます。

▶︎先週から、「比較」が始まり、今週も引き続き「比較」を学びます。

Opening で

▶︎ I don’t think anyone does.

Dialogue で

① I am just so excited about being in Nara.
👉人の感情を表す時、感情を表す動詞の過去分詞を使う – もうこれは
定石になっていますよね。ここでも、excited「ワクワクして」と「私」
の感情を表しています。
▶︎そして、何についてワクワクしているのかと言えば、
being in Nara「奈良にいることに関して」というわけです。
前置詞 about の後ろですから、動詞 ing形 (being) を使っておきましょう。

② the oldest wooden building
👉 the oldest という最上級がまず出てきました。
そして wooden というのは「木造の」という単語ですね。
覚えておきましょう。

③ Oh, I thought it was Todaiji.
👉時制の一致が行われています。
thought の内容がその後ろの節 – it was Todaiji – と説明ルールに従った
リポート文の形です。
▶︎つまり、thought が箱なら、it was Todaiji という内容も過去に
置かれるのは当たり前のこと。だから、時制の一致が自然に行われるんです。

because this, dear listeners, is probably the most difficult practice
you’ve ever done up to now.

▶︎ It’s actually really easy.
What I want you to focus on is that “Can you ride more slowly, please?”
It’s exactly the same as just saying “Can you ride slowly, please?”_
If you just want to level up or make a comparison,
you just put “more” before “slowly.”

So “Can you ride slowly, please?”
Add “more.”
“Can you ride more slowly, please?”

So with that in mind,
can you say that after me?

Can you ride more slowly, please?
That’s it! Piece of cake! Simple! Once more.
