英語における配置転換の重要性について勉強していきます。

先週に引き続き「wh疑問文」の学習です。

Dialogue で

① There has been a development in your case.
👉「進展がありました – 今はそういう状態にあります」という
現在完了形が出てきました。
※ There ＋ be動詞の形で、現在完了形を使う – なかなか練習する機会
はありませんから、この機会にしっかりと練習しておきましょう。

② You mean the break-in at my office last year?
👉 “You mean” – 相手の発言の真意をただす表現

③ We have some leads, sir.
👉 lead の複数形 leads – これは「手がかり」という意味です。

▶︎ This is the interesting word because it refers to information
which puts you on the right path, therefore leads you to wherever
you want to go, catching a criminal in this case.

all you have to do is concentrate on the position of the gap.
The gap is on the subject position of “is behind all this.”
So “who” is targeting that gap. Got it? OK.
