北海道公立高校入試分析（英語）の２回目です。
今回は、[２] を扱いますが、
[２]では、「短いスピーチやイベント情報の内容読解」の問題です。
それでは[２] には A と B があります。。
第２問の配点は、
Aの問１は、各２で計４点、問２は２点、合計６点
Bの問１(1)(2)は各２で４点、問２は３点、合計７点
全部で１３点となっています。
[２] A・・・短いスピーチ文の内容読解
次の英文は、英語の授業で、千香 (Chika)、幸太 (Kota)、友紀 (Yuki) の３人の生徒が、
自分たちのお気に入りのものについて、それぞれスピーチしている場面のものです。これを
読んで、問いに答えなさい。

＜千香＞
・この写真を見て。美しい星たちが見えますね。これは私が今年の夏に家族と一緒にキャンプに
行った時に撮ったものです。夜が来ると、空にあまりにたくさんの星があるのを見て感動しました。
美しい空の下で、母は私に星に関する面白い神話の話をしてくれました。私はその夜のことを
決して忘れません。ご静聴ありがとうございます。
＜幸太＞
・私は皆さんにこの特別のボールのことについてお話します。私は野球が大好きでよくプロ野球の
試合を見に野球場に行きます。ある日、私の大好きな選手がホームランを打って、そのチームが試合
に勝ちました。試合の後、ファンにボールを投げる選手もいたのですが、私はその時このボールを
自分のグローブでキャッチしたんです。なんとそのボールには私の大好きな選手のサインが書かれて
あったので私はとてもびっくりしました。だから、このボールが私の特別なボールとなったんです。

・これは私の大好きな本です。私の誕生日には、友達が私にこの本をくれました。それはある冒険

としました。でも実際には、あまりにもエキサイティングだったので一日で読んでしまいました。
それから、私はたくさんの本を読んできました。本は私をいろんな世界に連れて行ってくれて、

問２ 本文の内容から考えて、次の問いに対する答えを、主語と動詞を含む英文１文で
答えなさい。
Why is Kota’s ball special?
【解説】
◎質問は、「幸太のボールはなぜ特別なのですか。」という意味です。
▶︎それに対して「その理由」を答える問題です。
👉まず、幸太のスピーチから、
「そのボールが特別である」ことがわかる箇所をチェックしましょう。
・One day, my favorite player hit a home run and his team won the game.
・After the game, some players threw balls to the fans and I caught this
ball with my glove.
・I was very surprised because the ball had my favorite player’s autograph!
▶︎この３つの文をうまく活用して、できるだけ簡潔に理由を考えます。
◎一番の「大きな理由」は、
そのボールに「好きな選手のサイン」があったからですから、
素直に, “the ball had my favorite player’s autograph.” の部分を使えばいいと思います。
※答えるときは、my を his を替えるのを忘れずに。
(英語で my と言うと、「その人の」ものになってしまうので注意)

【解説】
・質問文は、
「あなたはどのイベントに行きたですか、そしてなぜ？」
という意味です。
▶︎ここから、１つの文で、次の２つのことを言うことになります。
①行きたいイベント
②その理由
👉①の「行きたいイベント」は、「質問の文」をそのまま使って、
I want to go to [イベント名] という形になります。
👉それに、②の理由を加えるので、because を使いましょう。
※すなわち、
– I want to go to [イベント名] because 〜.
のような形になります。
※理由の部分の英語もできるだけシンプルに、
・I like (to 〜 ) very much. や
・I want to 〜. のような形を利用するとできると思います。
