▶︎今回は、誤解を避けるため、情報の種類を切り分ける表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・ゼイトクスを探しに日本にやってきた天文学者のニール・ダウンズ博士 (Dr. Downs)
・ビーガンラーメン店のオーナー：キャロライン (Carolyn)

状況

・ダウンズ博士が、ゼイトクスを探して、キャロラインの店にやってきて、質問していますよ。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans.

Dialogue で

① I like to think it’s the best.【 like to think のニュアンス】
👉さあ、ここでは I like to think というフレーズが出てきましたね。
これは、「〜だと考えることが好きだ」- つまり、「言わせてもらえば」ぐらいのニュアンス
です。

② You haven’t seen … an alien come in here.【 see を用いた目的語説明型】
👉ここは、目的語説明型ですね。see an alien come in here – 「an alien が come in するのを
見た」という形になっています。
