発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。

◎1月から２ヶ月にわたって
▶︎「感情表現」を学んでいきます。
「好き」「嫌い」など、個人差はあれ、感情を述べる機会は頻繁にあります。
基本的な感情表現をマスターし、会話に彩りを添えましょう。

👉感情⑪ 失望・がっかり
▶︎「失望・がっかり」の状態を表す表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・大学生のヘレン (Helen) とギャリー (Gary)

状況

・大学のカフェテリアでヘレンとギャリーがお互いの冬休みについて近況報告をしています。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans.

Dialogue で

① Yeah, that’s a nice shirt you’re wearing.【会話を弾ませる表現】
👉さあ、この言い方、覚えておきましょうね。that’s a nice shirt と言った後、you’re wearing
「あなたが着ているね」と説明。相手の身につけているもの、雰囲気 – そうしたものを会った時に
褒めてあげると、会話は弾みますよ。

② I thought you loved Tolstoy. 【時制の一致】
👉さあ、I thought you loved 〜と時制の一致が行われていますよね。主節動詞が thought と過去。ですから、従属節内も loved と過去に一致する：過去 – 過去の連鎖を作る形です。

③ But it wasn’t what I’d hoped it would be ⬜︎.【 ⬜︎は what のターゲット】
👉さあ、I’d hoped it would be – この would be の後ろに空所(⬜︎)があって、ここが what の
ターゲットになる、そうした形を意識しながら練習してみてください。

▶︎ All right, everyone. Today’s practice is about disappointment. Not everything goes as planned or as hoped. So these are good phrases to have available when you feel that way.

▶︎ We won’t let you down. Let’s jump in.

・That was disappointing.
Be careful not to mix up the – ed and the – ing versions. OK?

Roza
▶︎ Let’s continue.
・I had such high hopes for that.
・That wasn’t what I’d hoped.

David
▶︎ Let’s continue.
・It’s a pity that you can’t come.
・It’s a shame that you can’t come.
・It’s too bad that you can’t come.
