前置詞の学習です。

👉 with の「場所のつながり」のイメージから▶︎「道具」の使い方が生まれる
Opening
Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. Let’s get started.
Chris
▶︎ Chris McVay here. I think your openings are dark and out of focus.
Dialogue で
① Yes, I got some film and tried to take photos with it.
👉さあ、ここで tried to というフレーズが出てきましたね。
「〜するように試みる」というわけですね。「撮ろうとした」というわけです。
▶︎ take photos ここが「写真を撮る」というフレーズになっていますね。
写真は、何かモノか、あるいは人物のイメージを撮ってくる – だから
take が使われている、というわけです。
② Most of the pictures came out dark and out of focus.
👉さあ、ここの come out「出てくる」というフレーズ。
全体は、説明型オーバーラッピングの形で使われています。
most of the pictures ＝ dark and out of focus の状態が出てきました、
というわけですね。came out – このイメージが文全体をオーバーラップ
する感じで用いられています。
③ But with experience, you’ll get better.
👉さあ、get better「良くなる」というわけですね。
変化の get が使われています。
④ 〜, but I’ll stick with digital photography.
👉さあ、ここで stick という動詞が出てきました。「くっつく」という動詞ですね。
stick with 〜で「〜を続ける、〜にこだわる」というフレーズを
作っています。stick to 〜でも構いませんよ。
After the Dialogue
Chris
▶︎ Well, one thing is, for sure, none of the contents about our textbook
are out of focus or disappearing. So stick with it.
Practice
Chris
▶︎ Practice, practice, practice time. Are you ready? OK?
Once again “with” the image is “togetherness.”
So it’s a logical extension to talk about tools or materials which
are used to do or make something. OK.
So that’s today’s focus. Here we go!

▶︎ And remember to think in English.

▶︎ eat fish with chopsticks
Now you have a tool. And you use it to eat fish. That’s all.
