前置詞の学習が始まりました。

👉「点」を表す at は「最上級」とたいへん仲がいい

Opening

Onishi
▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here. Ready for today’s lesson?

Roza
▶︎ Hi, guys. Chris McVay here. Well, Roza, we’re in the company
of a noted author, it seems.

Dialogue で

① We’re here today with noted astronomer Dr. Ellie Lansing.
👉さあ、We’re here today with … この with は「〜と一緒にいる」
ということですね。前置詞 with の使い方は「一緒」というわけです。

② It’s great to be here.
👉さあ、It’s great to be here. It … to 〜の形が出てきましたね。
「すばらしいんですよ」と言ってから、「ここにいることがね」
英語の語順通り、この文を意識して練習してみてくださいね。

③ We‘re all proud of the Omega astronauts.
👉さあ、ここでは We’re all というフレーズが出てきましたね。
この all – 文の様々な位置に出てくる可能性のある単語です。
まずは、この We’re all このフレーズを一語として口からすぐ出る
ようにしてみてください。徐々に all の位置取りに慣れてくるはずです。
👉そして、ここで be proud of「〜を誇りに思っている」というフレーズ
が出てきました。こちらも、しっかりと覚えて下さいね。素敵な響きのある
フレーズです。

This will be our last practice of the word “at.”
So I want you to keep the basic image “Pong” of one point in mind.
But now we’re going to introduce a selection of useful phrases
that you can memorize, and use them as often as possible.

▶︎ Here’s a couple more.
・She is at her best.
・I’m not at my wit’s end.

Chris
▶︎ I’m not at my wit’s end. This is a really nice expression.
So try to memorize it, OK?

Roza
▶︎ Definitely.

▶ A couple more to finish.
・He’s good at English.
And the last one.
・He’s not genius at all.

Is there any way to become good at it?

Chris
▶︎ Well, I don’t know if I’m good or not.
But I use the answer to such a question with “preparation is the key.”
But today I think we shouldn’t underestimate the value of your own voice.
Many presenters are rather monotonous. But the best presenters vary
their tone of voice a lot to keep the audience’s interest.
