発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。

これまで培った英語力を会話力にしていきましょう。

👉NAGARE 相手の意見を尋ねる
▶︎今回は、「どう思う？」に類した表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・ケリー (Kelly) の大人気トークショー
・今回のゲストは、天文学者でUFO専門家のニール・ダウンズ博士 (Dr. Downs)

状況

・ケリーは彼女のトークショーで、UFOについて鋭い質問をダウンズ博士にしています。

Opening で

Onishi
▶︎ UFO!

Roza
▶︎ Unidentified Flying Onishi! Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. Are you, too? Let’s jump into it.

Dialogue で

① Today’s guest is astronomer Dr. Neil Downs.【 astronomer の意味 】
👉さあ、astronomer というですね、「天文学者」という単語が出てきましたね。
しっかりと覚えといてくださいね。必ず使う機会はありますよ。

② Thank you for having me, Kelly.【 thank you for の使い方】
👉さあ、thank you for – お馴染みのフレーズが出てきましたね。
その後ろに動詞句的内容が来るときは、もちろん動詞 ing形がきます。
having me となっていましたね。

③ Dr. Downs, let’s get straight to it. 【 get straight to のニュアンス】
👉さあ、get straight to it というフレーズが出てきましたね。これは、
「すぐに本題に入る」ということです。「まっすぐそこに行く」というわけですね。

④ How do you see it? 【読み方 – 強調】
👉さあ、今の Roza さんの発音、注意深く聞いてくれたでしょうか。
How do [you] see it? 「あなたは」というところに強調が置かれていましたね。
こうした「細かい強調」を、見逃さないでください。

⑤ We have no evidence of that. 【 evidence の意味】
👉 evidence – これは「証拠」という単語ですね。重要語です。
しっかり覚えておきましょう。
