「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。

◎今年度最終月、３月では、
▶︎「会話の原則」を中心に、
これまで培った英語力を会話力にしていきましょう。

Lesson 231 会話の原則⑰：NAGARE 発言権を取り戻す

👉NAGARE 発言権を取り戻す
▶︎今回は、「発言を遮られた」時に、発言権を取り戻すための表現を学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・トークショーのホスト：ケリー (Kelly)
・宇宙飛行士のアキラ (Akira)

状況

・ケリーのトークショー。今回のゲストは宇宙飛行士のアキラですが、うまく会話の流れが行ってないようですね….

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ This is Akino Roza.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. Let’s get ready to go.

Dialogue で

① I’d like to welcome to the show astronaut Kuze Akira.【末尾に置いて強調】
👉 さあ、２番目の文ですね。I’d like to welcome – welcome するのは
astronaut Kuze Akira ですから、もちろん通常の語順は –
welcome astronaut Kuze Akira to the show となるべき所なんですが、
astronaut Kuze Akira というところを目立たせるために、文の末尾に置いた –
それがこの語順の理由です。

② Exactly.【 Yes. の代わりに勢いをつける表現】
👉 Yes. の代わりに Exactly. を使って、勢いを出しています。いい表現ですね。

③ I do! 【前の文の動詞を受ける do 】
👉さあ、ここの I do! もちろん前の文の (Exactly,) You know ….を受けて、I know. の意味で
I do. というわけです。

④ Akira, you survived on Mars longer than any human being in history.
【 survive の意味】
👉そして、survive という動詞 – これは「生き残る」という意味合いです。

⑤ Oh, sorry, go ahead. 【 go ahead の機能】
👉この go ahead – これは発言や行為を相手に促す表現ですね。覚えておきましょう。

⑥ I did it my way. 【副詞的な働きをする my way 】
👉さあ、この my way – これは、「私のやり方で」という副詞的な働きをしているわけです。
「私のやり方で行ってきた」というわけですね。

be messy things. Sometimes it’s necessary to take back the right to speak. So
let’s practice these phrases just in case you need to do that.
